Grammar & Composition V
This year, the grammar focus is primarily is on the application of grammar through frequent writing assignments. We are using the grammar handbook as a reference for written assignments. There is also a small workbook which we are using throughout the year to help with review of previously taught skills and to aid with practice of new concepts.
|
Spelling and vocabularySpelling focuses on frequently misspelled words and students are expected to study these (as assigned) along with the spelling rule or key to good spelling for each list (found in the beginning of the VSP V textbook). One vocabulary list of twelve words is studied for two successive quizzes. Students study the words and exact definitions for the first quiz on a vocabulary list. They study root words, prefixes, suffixes, antonyms, and synonyms for the second quiz on the same list.
